Happy Anniversary! I love cooking because food helps to bring people together (like in Babette’s Feast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE8ZkMYntdQ) and it’s a form of art, and it’s an opportunity to show off a bit ;-)

  2. It’s not that I don’t plan to enter, it’s that I’ve been thinking about how to put into words why I love cooking. I will be back!!

happy anniversary, I love cooking because I can not afford to eat out most of the time ; both timing and money, and the great feeling of achievement when the new recipe turned out suits mine and the kids’ taste better.

  4. I’ve thought about it. I love cooking because I didn’t learn how to cook until I had someone to feed–my son. My mother worked a lot, so we grew up eating take out, with a few homemade meals a year on birthdays and holidays (although many times, she bought the holiday meal too). I love cooking because it’s such a loving, nourishing thing to feed people. Feeding them physically is almost as enjoyable as watching the look on their faces when they really like it, when they’ve received an emotional feeding… a bit of love. When you can taste love in food, that it’s been prepared to nourish more than the need for nutrition (though that is important too)… that’s where it’s at.
